Style Spotlight| Best Dressed Oscars 2013

 

 

 

Just a couple of comments...

Jennifer Lawrence - How crazy that George Kotsiopoulos from Fashion Police predicted that she would be wearing this exact dress? I love that she chose such a statement ball gown and the diamond necklace draped down her back definitely added the WOW factor!

Maria Menunos - LOVE this hot pink Romona Keveza, who is generally associated with being a top wedding gown designer. This dress is very simple and sleek but at the same time very structured and figure flattering. She looks amazing.

Catherine Zeta Jones - Does this women look better with age or is it just me? I honestly don't think she could look bad in anything! The bottom of the gown isn't my favorite but the detail and dimensions of the bodice make up for that!

 Jessica Chastain - looks absolutely stunning in her Armani Prive' gown that reminds me a lot of Marilyn Monroe in her latter years and accordingly accessorized with vintage Harry Winston jewels from the 1960's. 

Kerry Washington - Miu Miu is a pretty surprising designer to choose for the Oscars but she definitely made the right choice! The gown makes her look very long and lean. Love the satin coral color with the nude embellished bodice. She is absolutely beautiful!   

Inspiration| Pantone 2013 Color of the Year!

The much awaited color of the year has been released by Pantone and it is   (Drum-roll please!)..... 

EMERALD. 

 

 Coincidentally the the exact color i am wearing today.

I personally love this color, especially being from Seattle, "The Emerald City". I love that it brings a little extra attention to my city. No doubt in my mind that Kate Middleton helped inspire this color choice. She has been seen several times wearing the hue, the color itself also just looks very rich, regal and warm. And looks great with any skin tone and hair color. I love seeing a red-head like Christina Hendricks in emerald. This is a great transition from the jewel tone trends from Fall 2012. Most do not realize the effect Pantone has on the entire fashion industry, manufacturers and designers will now begin creating pieces in this color, buyers will look for it specifically, and garment industry printers will buy the specific Pantone ink color for 2013 artwork.
