Trend| Metal Belt

The Metal Belt is one of the hottest trends right now. It walks on the boarder of being a belt and a piece of statement jewelery.... but around your waist. And it easily crosses over from adding an edgy pump to a summer dress into adding curves to a winter coat. The biggest stars have been wearing them casually and on the red carpet, showing the belts versatility. If a full metal belt is too much for you ASOS also offers a few more suttle variations with black leather beneath metal pieces, also still very chic!
Below i added where you can get the look for less - I personally have a couple styles of this myself.. One is #7 below, and another from Foreign Exhange (similar to #6) that you can see a peak of here in the curly ombre' hair photo. What do you think of this trend?

Inspiration| Dannielynn for Guess

Anna Nicole Smiths 6 year old daughter Dannielynn Birkhead pays tribute to her departed mother in a campaign shot in Malibu, CA for Guess. She is absolutely adorable and looks so much like her mom. There has been some concern from the public that she is being exploited, however her father says this is “really a tribute to her mom more than anything” and that “she’s not going to be a model.” I personally don't see anything wrong with the campaign if this is the case...and even if she does decide to model when she gets older. She's beautiful and it is a sweet tribute. What do you think?

DIY| Pomegranate Lip Gloss & Peppermint Foot Scrub

So i recently saw this really interesting and simple way of making your own Pomegranate lip gloss & Peppermint foot scrub from SELF. These could be great yummy gifts for the holidays and they're so easy!

Pomegranate Lip Gloss

Ingredients
• 1/2 cup petroleum jelly
• 1 scoop or 2 packets Natural Cherry Pomegranate Crystal Light
• 3 or 4 small jars or tins with lids

• 1tsp Water

Directions
Mix petroleum jelly and Crystal Light in a bowl, adding the water a few drops at a time, until gloss turns berry red. Use a spatula to smooth the formula into jars.

Peppermint Foot Scrub
Ingredients
• 4 strawberries
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil
• 8 drops peppermint essential oil
• 1 decorative jar

Directions
Make this the night before gifting it—it's perishable after 2 weeks because of the fresh fruit. In a bowl, puree or mash berries, then add sugar and olive and vegetable oils. Mix until well blended. Add peppermint oil 2 drops at a time until scrub smells minty. Spoon into jar, then stash in the fridge.
Write the expiration date on a card.

Enjoy!

My Ombre' Hair

So i finally lost my hair dying virginity and went ombre! And i love it. For those that are afraid of a full commitment, this is a great way to ease into becoming more experimental with your hair. I started by choosing my favorite picture of someone with ombre'hair that i love. (Check the feature i did on my favs here) At the salon i chose 3 colors to gradually fade down into blonde. Since my hair is really dark, almost black i went to a chocolate-y brown, to light brown, to blonde and my stylist added an even blonder blonde color to the very tips. So it is a complete ombre look. I have to say though that if you are planning to do this, make sure you go to a stylist with experience blending colors. If it does not blend well you totally loose the gradual fade.
I was really nervous but so excited about the results!
What do you think???

tip: this style looks its best when curled with a barrel iron!
